Chance is a 4 year old male Border Collie who is being fostered in Wentzville, Missouri.
Chance’s story,
Chance and two other Dogs were found tied to a tree at a Springfield Missouri shelter. Chance was underweight and not neutered, the shelter neutered him and he began to fill out. Chance is now 50lbs and will probably be a 53lb Dog.
Chance loves all people that he meets and is very friendly and loving. He is a very energetic dog though, and is not yet broken of his desire to jump up to greet you when you return home. He is also prone to reaching out to touch you with his paw (while endearing) it can also be annoying and potentially injurious if he hit you in an eye accidentally.
Chance gets along great with our 5 dog pack and has since the moment we introduced him to them. Chance needs a proper and slow introduction to new dogs. Chance does love to interact and play with dogs he knows, so he would do best if he has a playmate of roughly equal size and age.
Chance is not yet housebroken, but we are working with him on that. Chance does not show any herding instincts, nor does he display any of those herding behaviors. Chance does not have any toy drive yet although we hope to get him interested in balls or disks.
Chance requires a medium level of exercise several times a day but once exercised for 15 or 20 minutes, he will relax for a couple hours.
We have not yet been able to test Chance’s recall so he would do best with a fenced in yard. He is untested around cats and children.
If you have Border Collie experience and have a lot of love to give this boy, and are willing to invest in the training he needs, he is a great choice!
